Star Wallowing Bull was born in Minneapolis MN in 1973 and currently lives and works in Fargo ND. He was recently awarded the prestigious 2010 Bush Artist Fellowship and in 2001 he received the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian Native Artist Fellowship. Wallowing Bull’s art was included in the exhibition MIGRATION: New Directions in Native American Art, curated by the Tamarind Institute that traveled from 2006 – 2010 to institutions across the country. His art has also been exhibited at the Carl Nelson Gorman Museum, University of California Davis; Plains Art Museum, Fargo ND; Weisman Art Museum, Minneapolis MN; and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Washington DC. His work is in several private and public collections including: the Tweed Museum of Art, Duluth MN; Weisman Art Museum, Minneapolis MN; Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Washington DC; and the British Museum of Art, London, England.
